In this tutorial we learn how to install libwala-java on Ubuntu.

What is `libwala-java`

The T. J. Watson Libraries for Analysis (WALA) provide static analysis capabilities for Java bytecode and related languages and for JavaScript. WALA features include:

Java type system and class hierarchy analysis
Source language framework supporting Java and JavaScript
Interprocedural dataflow analysis (RHS solver)
Context-sensitive tabulation-based slicer
Pointer analysis and call graph construction
SSA-based register-transfer language IR
General framework for iterative dataflow
General analysis utilities and data structures

There are three methods to install libwala-java on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libwala-java Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libwala-java using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libwala-java

Install libwala-java Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libwala-java using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libwala-java

Install libwala-java Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libwala-java using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libwala-java

How To Uninstall libwala-java on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libwala-java package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libwala-java

Uninstall libwala-java And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libwala-java and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libwala-java

Remove libwala-java Configurations and Data

To remove libwala-java configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libwala-java

Remove libwala-java configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
