VP8 and VP9 are open video codecs, originally developed by On2 and released as open source by Google Inc. They are the successor of the VP3 codec, on which the Theora codec was based.

on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libvpx7 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libvpx7
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libvpx7
