What is libvirt-ocaml
libvirt-ocaml is:
This library provides OCaml bindings for using libvirt.
Libvirt is a toolkit to interact with the virtualization capabilities of recent versions of Linux (and other OSes). The library aims at providing a long term stable C API for different virtualization mechanisms. It currently supports QEMU, KVM, and XEN.
This package contains the shared library.
There are three methods to install libvirt-ocaml on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libvirt-ocaml Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libvirt-ocaml using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libvirt-ocaml
Install libvirt-ocaml Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libvirt-ocaml using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libvirt-ocaml
Install libvirt-ocaml Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libvirt-ocaml using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libvirt-ocaml
How To Uninstall libvirt-ocaml on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libvirt-ocaml package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libvirt-ocaml
Uninstall libvirt-ocaml And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libvirt-ocaml and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libvirt-ocaml
Remove libvirt-ocaml Configurations and Data
To remove libvirt-ocaml configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libvirt-ocaml
Remove libvirt-ocaml configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libvirt-ocaml configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libvirt-ocaml
