This library is an OCaml module implementing 128 bits universally unique identifiers (uuid) version 3, 5 (name based with MD5, SHA-1 hashing) and 4 (random based) according to RFC 4122.

This package contains header and OCaml library.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
