In this tutorial we learn how to install libuev3 on Ubuntu.
What is libuev3
libuev3 is:
libuEv is a small event loop that wraps the Linux epoll() family of APIs. It is similar to the more established libevent, libev and the venerable Xt(3) event loop. The u (micro) in the name refers to both its limited feature set and the small size impact of the library.
Experienced developers may appreciate libuEv is built on top of modern Linux APIs like epoll, eventfd, timerfd, and signalfd.
There are three methods to install libuev3 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libuev3 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libuev3 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libuev3

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libuev3 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libuev3
Install libuev3 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libuev3 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libuev3
How To Uninstall libuev3 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libuev3 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libuev3
Uninstall libuev3 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libuev3 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libuev3
Remove libuev3 Configurations and Data
To remove libuev3 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libuev3
Remove libuev3 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
