The Simple Protocol for Independent Computing Environments (SPICE) is a remote display system built for virtual environments which allows you to view a computing ‘desktop’ environment not only on the machine where it is running, but from anywhere on the Internet and from a wide variety of machine architectures.
This package contains the run-time libraries for any application that wishes to be a SPICE server.
There are three methods to install libspice-server1
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libspice-server1 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libspice-server1
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libspice-server1
Install libspice-server1 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libspice-server1
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libspice-server1
Install libspice-server1 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libspice-server1
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libspice-server1
How To Uninstall libspice-server1 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libspice-server1
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libspice-server1
Uninstall libspice-server1 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libspice-server1
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libspice-server1
Remove libspice-server1 Configurations and Data
To remove libspice-server1
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libspice-server1
Remove libspice-server1 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libspice-server1
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libspice-server1
