In this tutorial we learn how to install libsoxr0 on Ubuntu.

What is libsoxr0

libsoxr0 is:

The SoX Resampler library `libsoxr’ performs one-dimensional sample-rate conversion - it may be used, for example, to resample PCM-encoded audio.

It aims to give fast and high quality results for any constant (rational or irrational) resampling ratio. Phase-response, preserved bandwidth, aliasing, and rejection level parameters are all configurable; alternatively, simple `preset’ configurations may be selected.

A simple API is provided that allows interfacing using commonly-used sample formats and buffering schemes.

There are three methods to install libsoxr0 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libsoxr0 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libsoxr0 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libsoxr0

Install libsoxr0 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libsoxr0 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libsoxr0

Install libsoxr0 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libsoxr0 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libsoxr0

How To Uninstall libsoxr0 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libsoxr0 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libsoxr0

Uninstall libsoxr0 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libsoxr0 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libsoxr0

Remove libsoxr0 Configurations and Data

To remove libsoxr0 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libsoxr0

Remove libsoxr0 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libsoxr0 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libsoxr0
