Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libsoap-lite-perl on Ubuntu.
What is libsoap-lite-perl
libsoap-lite-perl is:
SOAP::Lite is a collection of Perl modules that provide a simple and lightweight interface to the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) both on client and server side.
This version of SOAP::Lite supports a subset of the SOAP 1.1 specification and has initial support for SOAP 1.2 specification. See http://www.w3.org/TR/SOAP for details.
There are three methods to install libsoap-lite-perl on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libsoap-lite-perl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libsoap-lite-perl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libsoap-lite-perl
Install libsoap-lite-perl Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libsoap-lite-perl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libsoap-lite-perl
Install libsoap-lite-perl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libsoap-lite-perl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libsoap-lite-perl
How To Uninstall libsoap-lite-perl on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libsoap-lite-perl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libsoap-lite-perl
Uninstall libsoap-lite-perl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libsoap-lite-perl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libsoap-lite-perl
Remove libsoap-lite-perl Configurations and Data
To remove libsoap-lite-perl configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libsoap-lite-perl
Remove libsoap-lite-perl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libsoap-lite-perl configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libsoap-lite-perl
