What is libsam4
libsam4 is:
The Corosync Cluster Engine is a Group Communication System with additional features for implementing high availability within applications. The project provides four C Application Programming Interface features:
- A closed process group communication model with virtual synchrony guarantees for creating replicated state machines.
- A simple availability manager that restarts the application process when it has failed.
- A configuration and statistics in-memory database that provide the ability to set, retrieve, and receive change notifications of information.
- A quorum system that notifies applications when quorum is achieved or lost.
This package contains the Simple Availability Manager library.
There are three methods to install libsam4 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libsam4 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libsam4 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libsam4

After updating apt database, We can install libsam4 using apt by running the following command:

How To Uninstall libsam4 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libsam4 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libsam4

To uninstall libsam4 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libsam4
Remove libsam4 Configurations and Data
To remove libsam4 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libsam4
