What is librostlab3-dev
librostlab3-dev is:
This library was developed by the Rost Lab. The lab’s research is driven by a conviction that protein and DNA sequences encode a significant core of information about the ultimate structure and function of genetic material and its gene products.
The library provides the following facilities:
- current working directory resource
- exception with stack backtrace
- file lock resource
- passwd and group structures for C++
- effective uid and gid resource
- rostlab::bio::seq class with stream input operator for FASTA format
- umask resource
This package contains files necessary for developing applications with librostlab.
There are three methods to install librostlab3-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install librostlab3-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install librostlab3-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install librostlab3-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install librostlab3-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
