In this tutorial we learn how to install librestfuldb-perl on Ubuntu.

What is librestfuldb-perl

librestfuldb-perl is:

RestfulDB is a Web frontend for SQL databases. It provides both a Web GUI and a RESTful API for interaction with any MySQL/MariaDB or SQLite database. RestfulDB is developed with off-the-shelf usage in mind, but nevertheless it provides the means to override the default interpretations of underlying database’s schema and data.

This package contains Perl modules required by RestfulDB.

There are three methods to install librestfuldb-perl on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install librestfuldb-perl Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install librestfuldb-perl using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install librestfuldb-perl

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install librestfuldb-perl using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install librestfuldb-perl

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

sudo aptitude -y install librestfuldb-perl

How To Uninstall librestfuldb-perl on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the librestfuldb-perl package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove librestfuldb-perl

To remove librestfuldb-perl configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge librestfuldb-perl

Remove librestfuldb-perl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove librestfuldb-perl configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
