In this tutorial we learn how to install libreoffice-mysql-connector on Ubuntu.

What is libreoffice-mysql-connector

libreoffice-mysql-connector is:

LibreOffice is a full-featured office productivity suite that provides a near drop-in replacement for Microsoft(R) Office.

This package used to contain the LibreOffice MySQL/MariaDB Connector extension. This has now been added to the “main” packages (libreoffice-sdbc-mysql) and this package thus can be safely removed once installed.

There are three methods to install libreoffice-mysql-connector on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libreoffice-mysql-connector Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libreoffice-mysql-connector using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-mysql-connector

Install libreoffice-mysql-connector Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libreoffice-mysql-connector using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libreoffice-mysql-connector

Install libreoffice-mysql-connector Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libreoffice-mysql-connector using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libreoffice-mysql-connector

How To Uninstall libreoffice-mysql-connector on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libreoffice-mysql-connector package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libreoffice-mysql-connector

Uninstall libreoffice-mysql-connector And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libreoffice-mysql-connector and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libreoffice-mysql-connector

Remove libreoffice-mysql-connector Configurations and Data

To remove libreoffice-mysql-connector configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libreoffice-mysql-connector

Remove libreoffice-mysql-connector configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libreoffice-mysql-connector configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libreoffice-mysql-connector
