Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libproj22
on Ubuntu.
What is libproj22
libproj22 is:
Proj and invproj perform respective forward and inverse transformation of cartographic data to or from Cartesian data with a wide range of selectable projection functions (over 100 projections).
Geod and invgeod perform geodesic (Great Circle) computations for determining latitude, longitude and back azimuth of a terminus point given a initial point latitude, longitude, azimuth and distance (direct) or the forward and back azimuths and distance between an initial and terminus point latitudes and longitudes (inverse).
This package provides the PROJ shared library used by tools and third parties programs.
There are three methods to install libproj22
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libproj22 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libproj22
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libproj22

How To Uninstall libproj22 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libproj22
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libproj22

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libproj22
Remove libproj22 Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libproj22
