What is libpnglite0

libpnglite0 is:

It was created as a substitute for libpng in situations when libpng is more than enough. It currently requires zlib for inflate and crc checking and it can read the most common types of PNG images. The library has a small and simple to use interface.

This package provides the shared library.

There are three methods to install libpnglite0 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libpnglite0 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libpnglite0 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libpnglite0

Install libpnglite0 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libpnglite0 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libpnglite0

Install libpnglite0 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libpnglite0 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libpnglite0

How To Uninstall libpnglite0 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libpnglite0 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libpnglite0

Uninstall libpnglite0 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libpnglite0 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpnglite0

Remove libpnglite0 Configurations and Data

To remove libpnglite0 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libpnglite0

Remove libpnglite0 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libpnglite0 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libpnglite0
