Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libplib1 on Ubuntu.
What is libplib1
libplib1 is:
Provides a Joystick interface, a simple GUI built on top of OpenGL, some standard geometry functions, a sound library and a simple scene graph API built on top of OpenGL.
This package provides the shared libraries. It should be installed automatically by packages which need it.
There are three methods to install libplib1 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libplib1 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libplib1 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libplib1

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libplib1 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libplib1
Install libplib1 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libplib1 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libplib1
How To Uninstall libplib1 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libplib1 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libplib1
Uninstall libplib1 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libplib1 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libplib1
Remove libplib1 Configurations and Data
To remove libplib1 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libplib1
