Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libphp-snoopy on Ubuntu.
What is libphp-snoopy
libphp-snoopy is:
It automates the task of retrieving web page content and posting forms, for example.
Some of Snoopy’s features:
- easily fetch the contents of a web page
- easily fetch the text from a web page (strip html tags)
- easily fetch the links from a web page
- supports proxy hosts
- supports basic user/pass authentication
- supports setting user_agent, referer, cookies and header content
- supports browser redirects, and controlled depth of redirects
- expands fetched links to fully qualified URLs (default)
- easily submit form data and retrieve the results
- supports following html frames (added v0.92)
- supports passing cookies on redirects (added v0.92)
There are three methods to install libphp-snoopy on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libphp-snoopy Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libphp-snoopy using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libphp-snoopy

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libphp-snoopy using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libphp-snoopy using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libphp-snoopy
How To Uninstall libphp-snoopy on Ubuntu
