Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libpfs2 on Ubuntu.
What is libpfs2
libpfs2 is:
PFS is a high-dynamic range (HDR) image format. It is an attempt to integrate existing file formats by providing a simple data format that can be used to exchange data between applications. This library can be used to write custom applications that can integrate with the existing pfstools programs.
This package contains the shared library.
There are three methods to install libpfs2 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpfs2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libpfs2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpfs2
Install libpfs2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libpfs2 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpfs2
Install libpfs2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libpfs2 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpfs2
How To Uninstall libpfs2 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libpfs2 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpfs2
Uninstall libpfs2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpfs2 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpfs2
Remove libpfs2 Configurations and Data
To remove libpfs2 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpfs2
Remove libpfs2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
