In this tutorial we learn how to install libnx-x11-6 on Ubuntu.

What is libnx-x11-6

libnx-x11-6 is:

NX is a software suite which implements very efficient compression of the X11 protocol. This increases performance when using X applications over a network, especially a slow one.

This package provides the libNX_X11 library (a libX11 drop-in replacement used by nxagent).

There are three methods to install libnx-x11-6 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libnx-x11-6 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libnx-x11-6 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libnx-x11-6

Install libnx-x11-6 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libnx-x11-6 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libnx-x11-6

Install libnx-x11-6 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libnx-x11-6 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libnx-x11-6

How To Uninstall libnx-x11-6 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libnx-x11-6 package we can use the following command:
