In this tutorial we learn how to install libnotify-bin on Ubuntu.
What is libnotify-bin
libnotify-bin is:
A library that sends desktop notifications to a notification daemon, as defined in the Desktop Notifications spec. These notifications can be used to inform the user about an event or display some form of information without getting in the user’s way.
This package contains the binary which sends the notification.
There are three methods to install libnotify-bin on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libnotify-bin Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libnotify-bin using apt-get by running the following command:
