In this tutorial we learn how to install libnfs-utils on Ubuntu.

What is libnfs-utils

libnfs-utils is:

LIBNFS is a client library for accessing NFS shares over a network.

LIBNFS offers three different APIs, for different use : 1, RAW : A fully async low level rpc library for nfs protocols 2, NFS ASYNC : A fully asynchronous library for high level vfs functions 3, NFS SYNC : A synchronous library for high level vfs functions

This package provides command line utilities.

There are three methods to install libnfs-utils on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libnfs-utils Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libnfs-utils using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libnfs-utils

Install libnfs-utils Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libnfs-utils using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libnfs-utils

Install libnfs-utils Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libnfs-utils using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libnfs-utils

How To Uninstall libnfs-utils on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libnfs-utils package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libnfs-utils

Uninstall libnfs-utils And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libnfs-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libnfs-utils

Remove libnfs-utils Configurations and Data

To remove libnfs-utils configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libnfs-utils

Remove libnfs-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libnfs-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libnfs-utils
