Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install libnetplan0 on Ubuntu.

What is libnetplan0

libnetplan0 is:

netplan reads YAML network configuration files which are written by administrators, installers, cloud image instantiations, or other OS deployments. During early boot it then generates backend specific configuration files in /run to hand off control of devices to a particular networking daemon.

Currently supported backends are networkd and NetworkManager.

This package contains the necessary runtime library files.

There are three methods to install libnetplan0 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libnetplan0 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libnetplan0 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libnetplan0

Install libnetplan0 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libnetplan0 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libnetplan0

Install libnetplan0 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libnetplan0 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libnetplan0

How To Uninstall libnetplan0 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libnetplan0 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libnetplan0

Uninstall libnetplan0 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libnetplan0 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libnetplan0

Remove libnetplan0 Configurations and Data

To remove libnetplan0 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libnetplan0

Remove libnetplan0 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libnetplan0 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libnetplan0
