Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libnbd-bin on Ubuntu.
What is libnbd-bin
libnbd-bin is:
NBD — Network Block Device — is a protocol for accessing Block Devices (hard disks and disk-like things) over a Network.
This is the NBD client library in userspace, a simple library for writing NBD clients.
This package contains utilities that make use of libnbd:
- nbdcopy
- nbdfuse
- nbdinfo
There are three methods to install libnbd-bin on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libnbd-bin Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libnbd-bin using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libnbd-bin

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
