How To Install libnative-platform-java on Ubuntu

In this tutorial we learn how to install libnative-platform-java on Ubuntu.

What is libnative-platform-java

libnative-platform-java is:

A collection of cross-platform Java APIs for various native APIs. Supports OS X, Linux, Solaris and Windows.

These APIs support Java 5 and later. Some of these APIs overlap with APIs available in later Java versions.

There are three methods to install libnative-platform-java on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libnative-platform-java Using apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude -y install libnative-platform-java

How To Uninstall libnative-platform-java on Ubuntu
