What is libmpv1
libmpv1 is:
mpv is a movie player based on MPlayer and mplayer2. It supports a wide variety of video file formats, audio and video codecs, and subtitle types.
This package provides a client library that can be used to embed mpv in other applications.
There are three methods to install libmpv1 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmpv1 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libmpv1 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libmpv1
Install libmpv1 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libmpv1 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libmpv1
Install libmpv1 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libmpv1 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libmpv1
How To Uninstall libmpv1 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libmpv1 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libmpv1

To uninstall libmpv1 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libmpv1
Remove libmpv1 Configurations and Data
To remove libmpv1 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libmpv1
