What is libmpfr-dev

MPFR provides a library for multiple-precision floating-point computation with correct rounding. The computation is both efficient and has a well-defined semantics. It copies the good ideas from the ANSI/IEEE-754 standard for double-precision floating-point arithmetic (53-bit mantissa).
There are three methods to install libmpfr-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmpfr-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libmpfr-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libmpfr-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libmpfr-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libmpfr-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libmpfr-dev
How To Uninstall libmpfr-dev on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libmpfr-dev package we can use the following command:
