What is libmp3lame0

libmp3lame0 is:

LAME (recursive acronym for “LAME Ain’t an MP3 Encoder”) is a research project for learning about and improving MP3 encoding technology. LAME includes an MP3 encoding library, a simple frontend application, and other tools for sound analysis, as well as convenience tools.

This package contains the shared library.

There are three methods to install libmp3lame0 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libmp3lame0 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libmp3lame0 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libmp3lame0

Install libmp3lame0 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libmp3lame0 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libmp3lame0

Install libmp3lame0 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libmp3lame0 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libmp3lame0

How To Uninstall libmp3lame0 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libmp3lame0 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libmp3lame0

To uninstall libmp3lame0 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libmp3lame0

To remove libmp3lame0 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libmp3lame0

We can use the following command to remove libmp3lame0 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
