What is libmng2
libmng2 is:
The libmng library supports decoding, displaying, encoding, and various other manipulations of the Multiple-image Network Graphics (MNG) format image files. It uses the zlib compression library, and optionally the JPEG library by the Independent JPEG Group (IJG) and/or lcms (little cms), a color-management library by Marti Maria Saguar.
There are three methods to install libmng2 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmng2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libmng2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libmng2

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libmng2 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libmng2
Install libmng2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libmng2 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libmng2
How To Uninstall libmng2 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libmng2 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libmng2

To uninstall libmng2 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libmng2
Remove libmng2 Configurations and Data
To remove libmng2 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libmng2
