In this tutorial we learn how to install libmmblib-dev on Ubuntu.

What is libmmblib-dev

libmmblib-dev is:

MacroMoleculeBuilder, previously known as RNABuilder, can be used for morphing, homology modeling, folding (e.g. using base pairing contacts), redesigning complexes, fitting to low-resolution density maps, predicting local rearrangements upon mutation, and many other applications.

This package contains the development files.

There are three methods to install libmmblib-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libmmblib-dev Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libmmblib-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libmmblib-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libmmblib-dev using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libmmblib-dev

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libmmblib-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libmmblib-dev

How To Uninstall libmmblib-dev on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libmmblib-dev package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libmmblib-dev

Uninstall libmmblib-dev And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libmmblib-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libmmblib-dev

Remove libmmblib-dev Configurations and Data

To remove libmmblib-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libmmblib-dev

Remove libmmblib-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libmmblib-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libmmblib-dev
