In this tutorial we learn how to install libmdc3 on Ubuntu.
What is libmdc3

This project stands for Medical Image Conversion. Released under the (L)GPL, it comes with the full C-source code of the library, a flexible command line utility and a neat graphical front-end using the GTK+ toolkit. The currently supported formats are: Acr/Nema 2.0, Analyze (SPM), DICOM 3.0, InterFile 3.3 and PNG.
This is the central library needed by medcon, xmedcon and derived programs.
There are three methods to install libmdc3 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmdc3 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libmdc3 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libmdc3
