Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libm4ri-dev on Ubuntu.
What is libm4ri-dev
libm4ri-dev is:
M4RI is a library for fast arithmetic with dense matrices over F2. The name M4RI comes from the first implemented algorithm: The “Method of the Four Russians” inversion algorithm. This algorithm in turn is named after the “Method of the Four Russians” multiplication algorithm which is probably better referred to as Kronrod’s method.
This package contains development files for libm4ri.
There are three methods to install libm4ri-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libm4ri-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libm4ri-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libm4ri-dev
Install libm4ri-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libm4ri-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libm4ri-dev
Install libm4ri-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libm4ri-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libm4ri-dev
How To Uninstall libm4ri-dev on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libm4ri-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libm4ri-dev

To uninstall libm4ri-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
