In this tutorial we learn how to install liblxc-common
on Ubuntu.
What is liblxc-common
liblxc-common is:
Containers are insulated areas inside a system, which have their own namespace for filesystem, network, PID, IPC, CPU and memory allocation and which can be created using the Control Group and Namespace features included in the Linux kernel.
This package contains a few binaries and security profiles required by all liblxc users.
There are three methods to install liblxc-common
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install liblxc-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install liblxc-common
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install liblxc-common

using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install liblxc-common

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
