liblapack-dev is:
LAPACK version 3.X is a comprehensive FORTRAN library that does linear algebra operations including matrix inversions, least squared solutions to linear sets of equations, eigenvector analysis, singular value decomposition, etc. It is a very comprehensive and reputable package that has found extensive use in the scientific community.
This package contains a static version of the library.
There are three methods to install liblapack-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install liblapack-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install liblapack-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install liblapack-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install liblapack-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install liblapack-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
