What is libj2ssh-java
libj2ssh-java is:
J2SSH is an object-orientated Java library implementation of the SSH version 2 protocol. It provides a rich, powerful, and extensible SSH API that enables developers to gain access to SSH servers and to develop entire SSH client/server frameworks. The API library provides a fully-featured SSH2 implementation specifically designed for cross-platform development. Higher level components, representing both the standard SSH client and SSH servers, are provided which implement the protocol specification for user sessions and port forwarding. The specification currently supports public key and password authentication and a full implementation of the SFTP protocol.
There are three methods to install libj2ssh-java
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libj2ssh-java Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libj2ssh-java
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libj2ssh-java

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libj2ssh-java

by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libj2ssh-java
Install libj2ssh-java Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libj2ssh-java
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libj2ssh-java
How To Uninstall libj2ssh-java on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libj2ssh-java
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libj2ssh-java
Uninstall libj2ssh-java And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libj2ssh-java
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libj2ssh-java
Remove libj2ssh-java Configurations and Data
To remove libj2ssh-java
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libj2ssh-java
Remove libj2ssh-java configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libj2ssh-java

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libj2ssh-java
