In this tutorial we learn how to install libicns1 on Ubuntu.

What is libicns1

libicns1 is:

libicns is a library for manipulation of the Mac OS icns resource format, also known as the IconFamily resource type. It can read and write files for the Mac OS X icns format, as well as read from Mac OS resource files and macbinary encoded Mac OS resource forks.

There are three methods to install libicns1 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libicns1 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libicns1 using apt-get by running the following command:
