In this tutorial we learn how to install libhttpcore-java
on Ubuntu.
What is libhttpcore-java
libhttpcore-java is:
HttpCore is a set of low level HTTP transport components that can be used to build custom client and server side HTTP services with a minimal footprint. HttpCore supports two I/O models:
- blocking I/O model, based on the classic Java I/O;
- non-blocking, event driven I/O model based on Java NIO.
The blocking I/O model may be more appropriate for data intensive, low latency scenarios, whereas the non-blocking model may be more appropriate for high latency scenarios where raw data throughput is less important than the ability to handle thousands of simultaneous HTTP connections in a resource efficient manner.
There are three methods to install libhttpcore-java
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libhttpcore-java Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libhttpcore-java
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libhttpcore-java

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libhttpcore-java
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libhttpcore-java
How To Uninstall libhttpcore-java on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libhttpcore-java
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libhttpcore-java
Uninstall libhttpcore-java And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libhttpcore-java
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libhttpcore-java
Remove libhttpcore-java Configurations and Data
To remove libhttpcore-java
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libhttpcore-java
Remove libhttpcore-java configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libhttpcore-java
