What is libhawtbuf-java
libhawtbuf-java is:
The HawtBuf library implements a simple interface with working with byte arrays. The JDK doesn’t come with a built in class that’s simply a
byte[],int offset,int lengthclass and providing a rich interface similar to what the String class does forchararrays. HawtBuf fills in that void by providing a Buffer class which does provide that rich interface.
HawtBuf also provides a Java protobuf code generator to make it easy to encode and decode objects to buffers and back.
There are three methods to install libhawtbuf-java on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libhawtbuf-java Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libhawtbuf-java using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libhawtbuf-java
Install libhawtbuf-java Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libhawtbuf-java using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libhawtbuf-java

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libhawtbuf-java using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libhawtbuf-java
How To Uninstall libhawtbuf-java on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libhawtbuf-java package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libhawtbuf-java

To uninstall libhawtbuf-java and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
