What is libgsl27
libgsl27 is:
The GNU Scientific Library (GSL) is a collection of routines for numerical analysis. The routines are written from scratch by the GSL team in C, and present a modern API for C programmers, while allowing wrappers to be written for very high level languages.
GSL includes data types and routines for complex numbers, vectors, matrices, basic linear algebra subroutines (BLAS), eigensystems, simulated annealing, minimization, root finding, pseudo-random numbers, least-squares fitting, fast Fourier transforms (FFT), differential equations, quadrature, Monte Carlo integration, special functions, physical constants, and much more.
This package provides the shared libraries required to run programs compiled with GNU GSL. To compile your own programs you also need to install libgsl-dev.

There are three methods to install libgsl27 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libgsl27 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgsl27

To uninstall only the libgsl27 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgsl27

To uninstall libgsl27 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgsl27
Remove libgsl27 Configurations and Data
To remove libgsl27 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgsl27
