In this tutorial we learn how to install libgeocode-glib0
on Ubuntu.
What is libgeocode-glib0
libgeocode-glib0 is:
Geocode-glib allows you to do geocoding (going from a place name, to a longitude/latitude pair) and reverse geocoding (finding a place name from coordinates) using the Nominatim service.
This library should be used in place of Geoclue’s D-Bus API for geocoding and reverse geocoding.
There are three methods to install libgeocode-glib0
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgeocode-glib0 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libgeocode-glib0
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libgeocode-glib0

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libgeocode-glib0
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libgeocode-glib0

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.

How To Uninstall libgeocode-glib0 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libgeocode-glib0
