In this tutorial we learn how to install libgdome2-0
on Ubuntu.
What is libgdome2-0
libgdome2-0 is:
gdome2 is a fast, light and complete DOM level2 implementation based on libxml2. Although it has been written for the GNOME project, it can be used stand-alone.
DOM (Document Object Model) is a standard interface for manipulating XML documents. A DOM implementation (also called a host implementation) is what makes a parsed XML or HTML document available for processing using a DOM interface.
libgdome2 currently supports the “Core”, “XML”, “Events” and “MutationEvents” modules from the DOM2 Recommendation.
This package contains the shared library.
There are three methods to install libgdome2-0
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgdome2-0 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libgdome2-0
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libgdome2-0

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libgdome2-0

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libgdome2-0
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgdome2-0
How To Uninstall libgdome2-0 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libgdome2-0
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgdome2-0
Uninstall libgdome2-0 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libgdome2-0
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgdome2-0
Remove libgdome2-0 Configurations and Data
To remove libgdome2-0
configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgdome2-0
Remove libgdome2-0 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libgdome2-0
