What is libext2fs2
libext2fs2 is:
The ext2, ext3 and ext4 file systems are successors of the original ext (“extended”) file system. They are the main file system types used for hard disks on Debian and other Linux systems.
This package provides the ext2fs and e2p libraries, for userspace software that directly accesses extended file systems. Programs that use libext2fs include e2fsck, mke2fs, and tune2fs. Programs that use libe2p include dumpe2fs, chattr, and lsattr.
There are three methods to install libext2fs2 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libext2fs2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libext2fs2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libext2fs2

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libext2fs2 using apt by running the following command:

Install libext2fs2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libext2fs2 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libext2fs2
How To Uninstall libext2fs2 on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libext2fs2 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libext2fs2
