What is libext2fs-dev
libext2fs-dev is:
The ext2, ext3 and ext4 file systems are successors of the original ext (“extended”) file system. They are the main file system types used for hard disks on Debian and other Linux systems.
This package contains the development environment for the ext2fs and e2p libraries.
There are three methods to install libext2fs-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libext2fs-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
