In this tutorial we learn how to install libendless-dev on Ubuntu.

What is libendless-dev

libendless-dev is:

Endless OS is a Linux-based operating system which provides a simplified and streamlined user experience using a customised desktop environment based on GNOME. Endless OS uses a read-only root file system managed by OSTree with application bundles overlaid on top.

Endless SDK provides libraries and development tools for building applications for Endless OS.

This package provides development files for Endless SDK.

There are three methods to install libendless-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libendless-dev Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libendless-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libendless-dev

Install libendless-dev Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libendless-dev using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libendless-dev

Install libendless-dev Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libendless-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libendless-dev

How To Uninstall libendless-dev on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libendless-dev package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libendless-dev

Uninstall libendless-dev And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libendless-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libendless-dev

Remove libendless-dev Configurations and Data

To remove libendless-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libendless-dev

Remove libendless-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libendless-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libendless-dev
