In this tutorial we learn how to install libej-dev on Ubuntu.

What is libej-dev

libej-dev is:

This package provides headers and links to develop software in C language addressing an expEYES box.

ExpEYES is from the PHOENIX project of Inter-University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi. It is a hardware & software framework for developing science experiments, demonstrations and projects and learn science and engineering by exploration.

There are three methods to install libej-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libej-dev Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libej-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libej-dev

Install libej-dev Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libej-dev using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libej-dev

Install libej-dev Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libej-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libej-dev

How To Uninstall libej-dev on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libej-dev package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libej-dev

Uninstall libej-dev And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libej-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libej-dev

Remove libej-dev Configurations and Data

To remove libej-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libej-dev
