What is libdrm-dev
libdrm-dev is:
This library implements the userspace interface to the kernel DRM services. DRM stands for “Direct Rendering Manager”, which is the kernelspace portion of the “Direct Rendering Infrastructure” (DRI). The DRI is currently used on Linux to provide hardware-accelerated OpenGL drivers.
This package provides the development environment for libdrm.
There are three methods to install libdrm-dev
on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libdrm-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libdrm-dev
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libdrm-dev

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libdrm-dev

by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

How To Uninstall libdrm-dev on Ubuntu

and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libdrm-dev

sudo apt-get -y purge libdrm-dev
