The “Decimal Floating Point C Library” is an implementation of ISO/IEC Technical report “ISO/IEC TR 24732” which describes the C-Language library routines necessary to provide the C library runtime support for decimal floating point data types introduced in IEEE 754-2008, namely _Decimal32, _Decimal64, and _Decimal128.

This package contains the runtime shared library.

There are three methods to install libdfp1 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libdfp1 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libdfp1 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libdfp1

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libdfp1 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libdfp1

Install libdfp1 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libdfp1 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libdfp1

To uninstall only the libdfp1 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libdfp1

sudo apt-get -y purge libdfp1
