Eclipse Cyclone DDS is a very performant and robust open-source implementation of the Data Distribution Service (DDS) standard by the Object Management Group (OMG) and the related wire protocol for interoperability (RTPS). It is developed completely in the open as an Eclipse IoT project with a growing list of adopters, and has become a tier-1 middleware for the Robot Operating System (ROS 2).

There are three methods to install libddsc0 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libddsc0 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libddsc0

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libddsc0 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libddsc0

Install libddsc0 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update
