What is libcurl3-gnutls
libcurl3-gnutls is:
libcurl is an easy-to-use client-side URL transfer library, supporting DICT, FILE, FTP, FTPS, GOPHER, HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, IMAPS, LDAP, LDAPS, POP3, POP3S, RTMP, RTSP, SCP, SFTP, SMTP, SMTPS, TELNET and TFTP.
libcurl supports SSL certificates, HTTP POST, HTTP PUT, FTP uploading, HTTP form based upload, proxies, cookies, user+password authentication (Basic, Digest, NTLM, Negotiate, Kerberos), file transfer resume, http proxy tunneling and more!
libcurl is free, thread-safe, IPv6 compatible, feature rich, well supported, fast, thoroughly documented and is already used by many known, big and successful companies and numerous applications.
SSL support is provided by GnuTLS.
There are three methods to install libcurl3-gnutls on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcurl3-gnutls Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libcurl3-gnutls using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcurl3-gnutls
Install libcurl3-gnutls Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libcurl3-gnutls using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libcurl3-gnutls
Install libcurl3-gnutls Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libcurl3-gnutls using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcurl3-gnutls
How To Uninstall libcurl3-gnutls on Ubuntu
To uninstall only the libcurl3-gnutls package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcurl3-gnutls
Uninstall libcurl3-gnutls And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcurl3-gnutls and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcurl3-gnutls
Remove libcurl3-gnutls Configurations and Data
To remove libcurl3-gnutls configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcurl3-gnutls
Remove libcurl3-gnutls configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libcurl3-gnutls configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libcurl3-gnutls
