Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install libctpl-dev on Ubuntu.

What is libctpl-dev

libctpl-dev is:

CTPL is a C template engine library allowing fast and easy computation of templates with precise control over the parsing environment.

CTPL supports a wide range of input types through GIO like in-memory, files, FTP, HTTP and more.

This package contains the header files which are needed for developing CTPL applications.

There are three methods to install libctpl-dev on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libctpl-dev Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libctpl-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libctpl-dev

Install libctpl-dev Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libctpl-dev using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libctpl-dev

Install libctpl-dev Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libctpl-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libctpl-dev

How To Uninstall libctpl-dev on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libctpl-dev package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libctpl-dev

Uninstall libctpl-dev And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libctpl-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libctpl-dev

Remove libctpl-dev Configurations and Data

To remove libctpl-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libctpl-dev

Remove libctpl-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libctpl-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libctpl-dev
