What is `libcrypto++-utils`

libcrypto++-utils is:

Crypto++ is library for creating C++ programs which use cryptographic algorithms. The library uses a Pipes & Filters architecture with heavy use of templates and abstract base classes. The cryptographic tools include:

Authenticated encryption schemes (GCM, CCM, EAX),
High speed stream ciphers (Panama, Sosemanuk, Salsa20, XSalsa20),
AES and candidates (Rijndael, RC6, MARS, Twofish, Serpent, CAST-256),

This package includes a utility for benchmarking and using the various Crypto++ routines from the command line. It also includes the test vectors for validating both the Crypto++ implementation and other implementations of these routines.

There are three methods to install libcrypto++-utils on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libcrypto++-utils Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libcrypto++-utils using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libcrypto++-utils using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libcrypto++-utils

How To Uninstall libcrypto++-utils on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libcrypto++-utils package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libcrypto++-utils

Uninstall libcrypto++-utils And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libcrypto++-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcrypto++-utils

Remove libcrypto++-utils Configurations and Data

To remove libcrypto++-utils configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libcrypto++-utils

Remove libcrypto++-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libcrypto++-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
