In this tutorial we learn how to install libcoda15 on Ubuntu.

What is libcoda15

libcoda15 is:

The Common Data Access framework allows reading of scientific data from various data formats, including structured ascii, structured binary, XML, netCDF, CDF, HDF4, HDF5, GRIB, RINEX and SP3. It provides a single consistent hierarchical view on data independent of the underlying storage format.

There are three methods to install libcoda15 on Ubuntu. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libcoda15 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libcoda15 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libcoda15

Install libcoda15 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libcoda15 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libcoda15

Install libcoda15 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libcoda15 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libcoda15

How To Uninstall libcoda15 on Ubuntu

To uninstall only the libcoda15 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libcoda15

Uninstall libcoda15 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libcoda15 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcoda15

Remove libcoda15 Configurations and Data

To remove libcoda15 configuration and data from Ubuntu we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libcoda15

Remove libcoda15 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libcoda15 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libcoda15
